A -- DEVELOPMENT OF EMERGING NONDESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION (NDE) TECHNOLOGIES FOR INFRASTRUCTURE APPLICATIONS SOL RFP No. DTFH61-95-R-00107 DUE 062195 POC Contact Kathy Farrell, HCP-30A, (202) 366-4215 The objective of this proposed contract is to obtain approximately 7.7 person-years of nonpersonal technical support services for the testing and development of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) systems for infrastructure applications. Some of the types of work the contract will require are: (1) Provide technical guidance in the NDE research and development area, (2) Develop and execute research plans, experimental designs, and innovative approaches to testing and evaluating emerging NDE technologies, (3) Become thoroughly familiar with the operation of applicable testing equipment and procedures, (4) Collect, document, reduce, and analyze laboratory and field data, (5) Conduct field studies to determine effectiveness of emergy technologies, and (6)Prepare articles for publication in professional trade journals. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by FHWA. The period of performance is 36 months. The due date identified above is the approximate due date for receipt of proposals. To receive a copy of the solicitation, submit a written request to the address above. NOTE: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation- related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maxium line of credit is $500,000.
