Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), FAA Technical Center, intends on
entering into a sole source contract with Transportation Research
Center, Inc. for an Airframe (Boeing 737) Longitudinal Impact Test. The
proposed statement of work calls for the full-scale longitudinal
testing of a 10-foot section of a Boeing 737. The test will require a
specialized facility to assure that the simulated crash loads will be
induced at the proper level and for a designated duration. Specifically
three or more tests will be run for which a triangular pulse shape will
be required at levels of 6, 9 and 12G's. In addition the test article
may be loaded with overhead stowage bins, auxiliary fuel tanks and/or
mass loaded seats attached to the floor structure. Parties having the
ability to perform such a test are requested to give written
notification to the following address within 30 calendar days from the

information concerning the capabilities of their facilities and past
