LETHCOE-REID, 804-864-2432. In support of the COLTS facility and the
Structures Division, we intend to assemble a state of the art laser
based ultrasonic system. One component of that system will utilize a
laser as part of the detection interferometer. The following
information is the procurement specifications for the required laser
system for use as an ultrasonic detection system component. I. The
Detection Laser system shall be in accordance with the following: a)
Shall be a diode laser pumped solid state Nd: YAG laser. b) Shall
operate in the frequency doubled mode at a wavelength of 532nm. c)
Shall operate with greater than 400 mW cw output power. d) Shall
operate with a line width of less than 20KHz. e) Shall operate with a
RMS noise figure of less than 1/2% over the frequency range of 500 KHz
to 25 MHz. f) Shall operate with less than + or - 2% output variation
during any 6 hr. period. g) Shall operate with a passive heat sink for
cooling. h) Shall operate with either 110 or 220 V AC. II. The
Contractor shall provide two (2) sets of operational and maintenance
manuals. See Note 1. Quotes may be mailed to NASA, Langley Research
Center, Mail Stop 138, Hampton, VA 23681-0001, or faxed to
804-864-6131, solicitation number must be cited in either case. The
quote must: be for the item(s) described above, contain a CERTIFICATION
that the offeror is a small, small disadvantaged, or small woman-owned
business, be FOB destination to this Center, include the proposed
delivery schedule and discount/ payment terms and warranty duration (if
applicable), and be signed by an authorized company representative.
Quotes are due by 3:00pm local time on April 14, 1995. All timely
quotes received from small businesses will be considered, and award
will be made to the responsive, responsible offeror(s) with the lowest
overall price and acceptable delivery schedule. Quotes must include
adequate information and submittals to determine whether the proposed
item(s) will meet the requirement described above. Evaluations will be
per line item, and award(s) will be for the lowest aggregate cost to
the Government. Award is anticipated within 7 days of the date quotes
