(402)221-4266. The work will include the following: (Approx.
quantities) The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor,
materials, and equipment and performing all work to remove the existing
48 LF concrete and sheet pile outlet structure from an existing buried
50' X 14' concrete conduit and constructing a new 232.5 LF reinforced
concrete structure (transition, chute and drop structure) at the
conduit's outlet at the Missouri River. Other work associated with the
new outlet structure consists of utility relocations, grading, riprap
placement and seeding. Work inside the buried (covered) conduit
consists of modifying the conduit by sawcutting and removing a 30 foot
width of the center portion of the reinforced concrete floor slab for
742 LF of existing conduit, installing temporary bracing inside the
conduit, excavating beneath the center portion of the conduit,
installing auger placed grout piles, and placing reinforced conrete
slabs within the new excavation. Work near the Missouri River most
likely will require construction of a temporary cofferdam and
dewatering of the foundation soils for construction of the outlet
structure and modification of the exiting conduit, depending on river
stages at the time of construction. Work inside the conduit will have
to occur with limited headroom and will require diversion of stream
flows around the work area. The estimated construction cost of this
project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Contractor's Quality
Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be
required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and
complete the work 400 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure
to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds
will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a April 24, 1995.
Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request and
receipt of payment of $26.00 per set (non-refundable) with check made
payable to ''Omaha District, Corps of Engineers.'' Please list street
