46 -- REMOVING SELENIUM FROM AGRICULTURAL DRAINWATER IN THE IMPERIAL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA POC Contact Ms. Caryn Rotheim, Procurement Technician, at 702-293-8588; Synopsis No. 95-05 This is not a solicitation. This is for information only. The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking sources who possess information on current technologies and/or methods to remove selenium from agricultural drainwater in the Imperial Valley, California. Other dissolved constituents of interest include, but are not limited to, sulfate, boron, molybdenum, manganese, and lithium. Concentrations of these and other constituents in the drainwater, project objectives and other pertinent information can be obtained by writing or sending faxes to the address listed below. The technologies and/or methods will be evaluated in order to meet the project goal of bringing the Alamo River and other streams flowing into the Salton Sea into compliance with EPA water-quality criteria. Interested parties should respond with specific written documentation showing that they currently possess viable technologies and/or methods to remove the selenium and/or other dissolved constituents from the drainage water. Although many of these objectives have been achieved in laboratory experiments, only those technologies that can prove their viability in applied field studies are requested. Methods must be able to treat agricultural drainage water on site in the Imperial Valley with flows ranging from approximately 2 gallons per minute to 450 gallons per minute. Technologies applicable to field studies of larger flows also are of interest. Treatments considered include physical, chemical, and biological methods. All responses should be received in writing within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis. Interested parties should send detailed written information to: Mark Leipnik, Bureau of Reclamation, Mail Stop LC-2212, P.O. Box 61470, Boulder City, Nevada 89006-1470. Vendors wanting additional information concerning this matter may fax requests to Mark Leipnik, Mail Stop LC-2212 at 702-293-8416 in Boulder City, Nevada.
