Futch, Phone 91-11-331-6841; Fax 91-11-332-7328 An experienced editor to produce 12 issues of a glossy, illustrated, 48-page general interest magazine about America and U.S.-Indo relations for the U.S. Information Service in New Delhi, India. The contractor, as editor-in-chief, will plan the contents and direct the production of each issue in cooperation with a staff of ten. Production includes, but is notlimited to, commissioning, writing, editing, and seeking reprint rights to texts; acquiring and commissioning photographs and other illustrations. Candidates must have at least ten years of senior-level journalism experience in the United States, preferably with magazines; excellent knowledge of American culture, society, institutions, government, and foreign policy; and familiarity with Indian culture and society and the history of U.S.-Indo relations. The successful offeror will be responsible for his/her own transportation costs to, and living arrangements in New Delhi and will be subject to all the laws and regulations prescribed by the Government of India, including work permits, taxes, immigration and customs procedures. Offers will be evaluated based on a combination of qualifications, availability, and price. Performance under the contract must begin no later than July 1, 1995.
