necessary to perform routine Homepier Dockside Vessel Maintenance
including but not limited to the following minimum quantity items: 1.
Overhaul weight handling equipment 2. Overhaul both port and starboard
handling equipment 3. Renew windows 4. Modify No.2 Cargo hold
ventilation and install sewage treatment room ventilation 5. Renew deck
and plating 6. Mast maintenance 7. Relocate two submersible pump
outlets 8. Renew and test valves. Indefinite quantity items include but
are not limited to the following 1. Welding repairs. Vessel homepier is
POrtsmouth VA. Vessel length is 157 foot - width is 31 foot 4.75
inches. Vessel availability schedule is 17 July 1995 for 28 days. The
place of performance is geographically restricted to the vessel's
homepier at Portsmouth, VA. There will be a nonrefundable charge of
$100.00 required in the form of a certified check or money order made
payable to the U.S) Coast Guard for requested drawings. All other
referenced documents are available for viewing at building 400N,
Governors Island, NY. The proposed contract listed here is part of the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 10 Apr 95. All responsible
sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States

Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide account receivable financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
