Systems Commmand requests technical inputs (with cost estimates) by 26
April 1995. This information is required in order to assist PMA-272 in
formulation of the Navy technical and financial requirements for JETS.
Aircraft eveluation will initially be performed for the F/A-18E/F,
F-15E, F-16C, and EA-6B. JETS is information on Rf emitters to tactical
aircraft. Target-quality information includes location in range and
bearing and target identification. Specific requirements for the JETS
are to provide: accurate ranging and DOA to RF emitters (both ground
and airborne); accurate ranging and accurate DOA from distances
determined to be of acceptable risk to pilot safety; accurate
identification of threat and friendly RF emitters (both coherent and
non-coherent); specific emitter identification using Unintentional
Modulation on Pulse (UMOP), Frequency Modulation on Pulse (FMOP) or a
like tecnology; targeting information to friendly weapon systems or
target cueing to other onboard sensors from ranges that allow the
launch of friendly weapons. A package describing the required
information will be available by wriiten request on 29 March 95.
