IL 62040-7500 23 -- PASSENGER COMMUTER VANS Qualified vendors are invited to submit
sealed bids for up to 120 Factory and/or Converted Passenger Commuter
Vans to the Madison County Transit District (MCT) no later than
Thursday, April 20, 1995, at 4:00 P.M. Central Daylight Time (CDT), at
which time they will be opened and read aloud. A bid package and
specifications are available by contacting LaVetta Berry at
(618)874-7433. The bids must be mailed to the attention of MCT's
Managing Director at the following address: One Transit Way, P.O. Box
7500, Granite City, Illinois 62040, no later than the time and date
specified in order to be considered. Bids received after this time will
be returned unopened, and will not be considered. Telegraphic of fax
submissions will not be considered. The bidder accepts all risks of
late delivery of mailed bids or of misdelivery, regardless of fault. No
technical assistance will be given by MCT to any bidder in preparation
of its bid. A pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, April 5,
1995, at 10:00 A.M. CDT in the conference room at MCT's offices located
on One Transit Way, Granite City, Illinois, 62040. All bidders are
strongly encouraged to attend. Prospective bidders may submit written
questions in advance to be answered at the pre-bid conference. Any
explanation desired by a bidder regarding the meaning or interpretation
of the IFB, vehicle specifications or other portions of the IFB, must
be requested in writing and received by the Managing Director of the
DISTRICT not later than 4:00 P.M. CDT on Monday, April 3, 1995. Any
information given to a prospective bidder in this manner will be
similarly furnished to all known prospective bidders in the form of an
addendum to this IFB, but only if the lack of such information could
reasonably be considered prejudicial towards uninformed bidders. This
invitation is not to be construed as a commitment of any kind on the
part of MCT, nor does it commit MCT to pay for any costs incurred in
the submission of a bid package, nor for any costs incurred prior to
the execution of a formal Contract. MCT assumes no liability for the
use or disclosure of technical or cost data submitted by any bidder.
MCT reserves the right to postpone the date and time for submitting and
opening bids by announcing same at any time prior to the date and time
announced in these documents. MCT further reserves the right to reject
any and all bids, or any portion of a bid, for any reason whatsoever.
