K -- JOINT SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM (JSS) REGION/SECTOR OPERATIONS CONTROL CENTERS (R/SOCCS) MODERNIZATION POC Mr. David H. Hawkins, Contracting Officer, 617-377-9457. The Directorate of Development Planning (ESC/XR), Hanscom AFB, MA, is preparing to initiate a program to modernize the Joint Surveillance System (JSS) Region/Sector Operations Control Centers (R/SOCCs). The modernization program will replace the AN/FYQ-93 processing and display equipment, as well as interface equipment and software, with modern, maintainable, extensible hardware and software. Current planning calls for contract award in FY97, with an IOC goal of no later than FY00. It is anticipated that the initially fielded system will provide sufficient capabilities and capacities to meet the minimum essential user requirements, with follow-on phases to add additional functionality to satisfy the user's objective requirements. In anticipation of this activity, ESC/XR requests information regarding air defense/air sovereignty systems that are in the field or currently on contract for delivery within the next two years. A detailed description of the system performance capabilities and capacities required for the R/SOCC Modernization Program, and details and limitations of this Request for Information (RFI) have been placed on the Hanscom Electronic RFP Bulletin Board (HERBB), and interested contractors are invited to submit detailed descriptions of their air defense/air sovereignty system capabilities. The HERBB can be reached through a computer modem by calling (617) 274-0500. ESC/XR will host a briefing to industry on 21 March 1995 at 0900 hours, to review the status of the R/SOCC Modernization Program and to clarify any questions regarding this RFI. The briefing will be held at the MITRE Corporation, Building M, Room 0M503, Bedford, MA.
