Arnold Engineering Development Center has a requirement for a fully-automatic, self-contained vacuum dehydrator or ion injection system capable of meeting the following characteristics: able to purify Mobil Heavy Medium DTE oil (335 SSU at 100 degrees F) without heating oil above 140 degrees F; fluid circulation rate of 10 gpm regardless of amount of water or solid contamination; capable of removing 1.2% (1200 ppm) water concentration to 0.25% (2500 ppm) in a single pass. Ultimate water removal shall be less than 50 ppm, and ultimate solid contaminant removal of 3 microns Absolute. The maximum size of the unit shall not exceed 6ft in length by 6ft in width by 10 ft in height. Any heater installed in the system shall not exceed 32 kW maximum and shall be controlled by a field adjustable thermostat and shall have temperature readouts. The system must also be equipped with dry alarm contacts for monitoring the following discrete outputs: pump motor fault (on/off); filter status for all filters (high pressure differential), and heater status, if so equipped. The system shall be delivered with one complete set of filter elements. The ''due date'' referenced above is an estimated solicitation release date, not a bid opening date.
