Pick up and delivery are to be made to VAMC's Ann Arbor, Saginaw, Allen Park, Detroit and Battle Creek, Michigan (estimated 100,000 pounds weekly), Monday through Friday, including holidays. Requirements include processing records being maintained by contractors as required. Contractors are to furnish certificate of professional trade membership and furnish results of textile testing on a quarterly basis. Contractor must comply with all VA quality assurance criteria, JCAHO infection control standards and sanitation requirements. This requirement includes, but is not limited to, physical separation of soiled and clean processing areas and positive and negative air flow between these areas. Contractor facilities will be subject to a pre-award survey prior to a contract award determination. This synopsis is published to determine the availability of sources only. Contracts, if awarded, may be for one year with four optional renewal years. Should adequate commercioal interest be found, a solicitation will be issued. In the event commercial interests affirmatively respond to the formal solicitation process, a cost comparison will determine the continuance of and modernization of new in-house operations or the provision of contract services that may be obtained through linen rental or on premise contract operations.
