(212)668-3477. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for
the Drydock Repairs to the USCG Academy Training Boat (T-1). Work for
these Drydock repairs is to be peformed at the contractor's facility.
Competition for the subject availability is geographically restricged
to the protected waters from New York Lower Bay to Naragansett Bay
(including the Ports of Providence and Fall River). The work which may
be performed includes but may not be limited to the following definite
items: 1. Renew Fuel Oil Pumping System 2. Clean and Inspect Diesel
Fuel Tanks 3. Preserve Classroom Deck 4. Overhaul, Renew, and Test
Valves 5. Remove and Reinstall Propeller and Propeller Shaft 6. Routine
Daydocking 7. Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings 8. Preserve in
Lazarette 9. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assembly 10.
Temporarey Logistics. Proposed contract will also contain optional
items including, but not limited to: 1. Welding Repairs 2. Renew Waster
Pieces 3. Preserve Steel Underwater Body 4. Ultrasonic Testing 5. Renew
Shaft Covering (at 25%). USCG Academy Training Boat's homeport is New
London, CT. Vessel is 66 Feet in Length. USCG Academy T Boat's
Availability Schedule is 26 June 1995. There will be a non-refundable
charge required in t he form of a certified check or money order made
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $35.00 for requested
drawings and publications. The proposed contract listed here in open to
small businesses only. Plans and specifications will be issued on or
after 20 March 1995. All responsible sources may submit a bid which
shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization has programs to assist minority, wormen-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
