Tennant, Jr., Contracting Officer, (301)713-0823 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) plans to negotiate with VIZ Manufacturing Company on a sole source basis pursuant to 41 USC 253 (c)(1) for the acquisition of approximately 5700 (+/- 25%) 403 MHz OMEGA Radiosondes (VIZ P/N 1544-611) per year or an equivalent radiosonde which is fully compatible with the VIZ WO-9000 ground system. VIZ is the sole design, developer and manufacturer of the WO-9000 ground system and there is no other known source who manufacturers a radiosonde which is compatible with this ground system. Deliveries shall commence within 90 days from the effective date of the contract and be completed within nine to ten months from the start of deliveries. The destination will be F.O.B. Origin. The envisioned contract will be on an indefinate quantity basis and will be for a one year period of performance starting with the effective date of the contract with four one year options.
