Interested SDB concerns should notify this office, in writing, of their intention to bid the project as prime contractor as early as possible, but not later than 15 days from the date of this notice. The notification must contain a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern; evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this nature and magnitude. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as an unrestricted procurement without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all firms including large businesses. Interested parties will be put on the planholders list and issued an IFB when available. The work involves mechanical, electrical, and architectural modifications to existing Boiler/Mechanical rooms in 6 buildings and incidental related work. Contractors within the local area are urged to pick-up a copy of the solicitation at Building 212, lst floor, Plans Room, at the Washington Navy Yard. The hours of operation for Plans & Specs are 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. There will be no charge for these documents, however, there will only be one set issued per contractor. Requests for plans & specs and bidders lists should be made separately. Please note that plans & specs will be issued on a ''first-come, first-serve basis''. The projected date of issuance of plans and specs is 10 March 1995. The projected date for bid opening is 25 April 1995.
