and Economic Analysis of the Pension and Welfare Benefits
Administration, U.S. Department of Labor solicits proposals for policy
relevent projects costing $25,000 or less concerning private pensions
and employer-provided health benefits, with priority to innovative,
timely projects of $10,000 or less. All proposals for work related to
employee benefits issues and the Employee Retirement Income Security
Act (ERISA) will be considered. Priority will be given to work with
immediate policy relevance to the Department of Labor's
responsibilities under Title I of ERISA. In particlular, proposals are
solicited that provide innovative analyses of: 1) recent developments
in pension coverage rates, 2) consequences of pension plan design on
future retirement income, 3) investment patterns of pension plans, 4)
pension plan investment in economically targeted investments, 5) the
relationship between employers' behavior, innovative workplace
organization, benefit practices, and the performance of the firm.
Proposals received by June 15,1994 will be given priority. This
