Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., (the Company) acting under Contract No. DE-AC05-84OR21400 issued by the United States Department of Energy (DOE), operates the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. ORNL is soliciting expressions of interest from colleges and universities to provide research support as part of DOE's support of the American Textile Partnership (a partnersip of industry, DOE laboratories, and universities) with regard to the Demand Activated Manufacturing Architecture (DAMA) project, DAMA's mission is to improve operations, and thereby the competitiveness, of the United States Integrated Textile Complex (i.e. the supply chain from U.S. based fiber suppliers to and including retailers of fabric based products) through the identification of advantageous business practice modifications and the definition of a communications and computer systems architecture to support these modifications. The program will provide for support of research relevant to DAMA through a subcontract in the range of $750,000 over a two year period of performance. This announcement extends the closing date for expressions of interest as published in the February 1, 1995 CBD to March 15, 1995. This is not a request for proposal. (055)
