D -- SHIPBOARD UHF RF POWER AMPLIFIER POC Matthew E. Brandt, PMW 172-12B, 703-602-8279 or Linda Squires, 02-32, 703-602-0660. Synopsis No. 24. Space and Naval Warfare Systems (SPAWAR) is seeking detailed information concerning a high power, linear broadband microwave amplifier for maritime (ship interior) application. Current interest is that the radio frequency (RF) power amplifier cover the entire frequency range of 1350 to 1850 MHz with a variable power output up to 300 watts maximum that will be driven from a 0 dbm (1 mW) to +37 dbm (5 W) input. The power amplifier may be a Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) or solid state. A TWT power amplifier should provide the user with features in regulation of the helix, filament, and grid power supplies, as well as input and output VSWR protection. Furthermore, the RF power supply must have the following features: 19 inch rack mountable, 115 VAC as primary power, single phase, 50/60 Hz 2 KVA maximum, 50 Ohms input and output impedance, RF connectors: Type N (input) WR62 (output), basic operating temperature: 0-50 degrees C (40 degrees C @ 10,000 Feet). Overall, the RF power amplifier should feature power on, RF standby/on, RF power metering, fault indication (i.e. helix overcurrent, VSWR metering and overload protection, power supply/TWT overload) and have ease of maintenance. Information submitted should include all available White Papers describing: 1) details of the RF power amplifier design, 2) RF power amplifier description and RF specification data, 3) delivery and cost data. Please note that this is a Request For Information only, and that no procurement documents for such an RF amplifier exist at this time. SPAWAR may, however, use information obtained through this request when structuring future NDI/COTS procurement documents which may include a requirement for demonstration of the proposed RF amplifier prior to award of any future contract. Interested parties should indicate whether they are small business, small disadvantaged business, or 8(a). This is not a request for proposal (RFP), a promise to issue an RFP, nor a promise by the government to pay for information received in response to this synopsis. Acknowledgement of receipt will not be made nor will telephone inquiries be honored. Proprietary data submitted in response to this synopsis will be protected when designated. A procurement, if any, resulting form this synopsis will be separately synopsized by RFP in the CBD.Interested offerors may send information by 23 February 1995 to: Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Attn: Matthew E. Brandt, RF Systems Engineer, Code: PMW 172-12B, Room 540, 2451 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22245-5200. Please reference this synopsis no. 24 on both mailing envelope and the enclosure. (0053)
