70 -- OPTICAL DISK IMAGING SYSTEM SOL RFP 101-31-95 DUE 031595 POC Contact Point, David Copeland, (202)523-3490 The Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office, Washington, D.C. intends to award a sole source contract for hardware maintenance and software licensing to FileNet Corporation for support of a Optical Disk Imaging System installed at the St. Louis VA Regional Office. These services will be for a base year and possibly 2 option years. The Optical Disk Imaging System is comprised of the following hardware components and proprietary FileNet Corporation software. Optical Storage and Retrieval Library (OSAR 64) System 5000 with optical disk drives and formatter, System 4500 Root/Index Database Servers with CPU Turbo Boards and optical disk drives (separate servers), 2 Workflo Application Servers, 2 cartridge tape drives, 4 FileNet Mixed Document Scanner and printers, 2 Business Form Scanners, 13 Hitachi Station Towers, FileNet OSCAR station contains a proprietary BUS architecture and buffering scheme and custion controller, all designed to provide data processing speeds while working with large amounts of data involved in image processing. The FileNet Imaging System has the following proprietary FileNet software installed: WorkFlo software, Forms, Document Retrieval, Workshop Professional Program, VT 100 Terminal Emulation and Image Display for Windows. Interested vendors have 30 days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit a capability statement (e.g., technical specifications, brochures, and any pricing lists) in writing. This information should demonstrate the vendor's bonafide ability to meet specific requirements.
