The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD has a requirement for seventeen each parachute recovery systems. These systems will be delivered to the Receiving Officer, MS-31, Supply Department, Bldg 665, Naval Air Station, 47137 Vaughn Road, Patuxent River, Maryland 20670-5665, within 210 days after contract award. These systems will be installed in Response Class Recoverable Air Test Vehicles (RATVs) used for weapon separartion testing. The 1,591 pound class re-usable RATVs will have an inert shape made to represent an actual weapon in aerodynamic shape and mass properties and will have an internal Telemetry system to give engineering data. The parachute recovery system is required to deploy after release and slow the RATV as it falls to the ground to prevent RATV damage.
