COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 16,1995 PSA#1285Defense Nuclear Agency, 6801 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22310-
3398 A -- HIGH POWER MICROWAVE (HPM) SYSTEM ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY
DEMONSTRATION (ATD) SOL DNA001-95-R-0021 POC Jennifer Seaton,
Negotiator, (703) 325-9368, Edward Archer, Contracting Officer, (703)
325-5028. The early emphasis of High Power Microwave (HPM) Development
had been on large sources for single-pulse and multiple-pulse burn
out. The Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA), however, has been focusing on
using repetitive pulse, frequency-agile, long pulse sources to achieve
effects such as interference, spoofing and upset, as well as burnout
using lower power. Under the current program, DNA has completed a
proof-of-principle system utilizing low power magnetrons and has
demonstrated the potential effectiveness of this technological approach
against a generic class of targets. At this time, DNA is interested in
exploring this principle at higher power levels. The facility
clearance and level of safeguarding required for this contract are TOP
SECRET. The Statement of Work will be released as a separate document
from the Request for Proposal (RFP). Requests for copies of the RFP
must be submitted in writing and include a POINT OF CONTACT, PHONE
NUMBER, FAX NUMBER, CLASSIFIED MAILING ADDRESS, and CAGE CODE.
Telephone requests will not be accepted. All responsible sources that
meet the security requirements will be considered. For information,
contact Jennifer Seaton at (703) 325-9368, FAX (703) 325-9291.
Information on DNA solicitations, already released, can be obtained by
