70 -- ACQUISITION OF PROPRIETARY LASER VIDEODISCS, ASSOCIATED PROPRIETARY HARDWARE, AND PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE POC Mary H. Mace, Contracting Officer, 301/415-7413/, Contract Specialist, 301/415-6591 The NRC intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Computer Aided Training Company in Atlanta, GA on a sole source basis for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The NRC will acquire proprietary laser videodiscs, associated proprietary perpherial equipment, perpetual proprietary software license, installation, testing, and training on laser videodisc workstations. Seven sets (with an option for ten additional sets) of proprietary laser videodiscs for two light water reactor vendor designs (Russian VVER-440 design and Russian VVER-1000 design) are required. A perpetual software license for the proprietary software for each workstation is required. In addition, seven complete interactive laser videodisc workstations (with an option for ten additional workstations) with basic office software and printers are required. Computer Aided Training Company is the only known vendor that has the required reactor vendor design laser videodiscs. The period of performance is approximately 3 years. This is a notice of intent to contract only. A solicitation document does not exist. Interested parties should submit written technical documentation, to the NRC, demonstrating their ability to furnish the items specified to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Division of Contracts, Attn: Sharon D.
