U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for the following ''brand name
or equal'' CHNS Elemental Analyzer. Equal item must meet salient
characteristics of brand name. Analyzer to be installed at the Central
Laboratory in Yerevan, Armenia. The analyzer will be interfaced with
a 486SX IBM or compatible computer. The analyzer is Fisons Instruments,
Model EA 1108 CHNS Elemental Analyzer. The system consists of: EA 1108
base unit; 50 position autosampler; EAGER 200 software, ERBACARD/2 A/D
converter card compatible with IBM PC/XT/AT or Microchannel Computers,
Balance interface kit, Sartorius M2P Microbalance, or Leco Corporation
- Model Number CHNS-932 Elemental Analyzer for elemental analysis of
organic materials, keyboard, sample autoloader, printer assembly, 230
volts, 60 Hz, single phase, or Perkin Elmer Model No. PE 2400 Series II
CHNS Analyzer (230V) which includes AD-4 Autobalance, Assy Interface RS
232, RS 232C Interface Kit for AD-4 or AD- 6 Autobalance, Weight
Transfer Cable RS-232, or equal. Salient characteristics are: (1)
System must be capable of determining Carbon/Hydrogen/Nitrogen
simultaneously in coal according to ASTM D 5373-93 standard test
methods with an added feature for simultaneous determination of sulfur
in petroleum products, (2) system shall utilize the Dumas combustion
method, static combustion is not acceptable, (3) system must include
all hardware and software needed for interfacing the unit to a 486SX
IBM compatible computer, (4) software and hardware must also be capable
of automatic weight transfer from a RS232 equipped microbalance, system
must include an RS232 microbalance capable of weighing precision of
0.001mg, (5) system shall include an autosampler for solid or liquid
samples in capsules, (6) sample introduction to the furnace from the
autosampler must be accomplished by gravity, a push rod system of
sample entry is not acceptable, (7) system must not consume more than
50ml of oxygen during sample combustion, and (8) must have a built in
integrator available. Delivery, installation, and training with
Russian-speaking technical personnel in Yerevan, Armenia to occur in
June 1995. Solicitation No. 8131 will be available on or about March 1,
1995, with the closing date 30 days after issuance. Requests for
Solicitation No. 8131 shall be in writing. Phone requests will not be
