Pelekakis (410) 962-4136 The government intends to negotiate a sole
source contract with Central Mine Equipment Company 4215 Rider Trail
North Earth City, MO 63045 for the acquisition of skid/trailer mounted
multipurpose geotechnical drill machine. The drill machine shall be
capable of performing auger borings to depths of 75 to 150 feet in
unconsolidated formations with up to 12 inch O. D. conventional flight
augers hollow stem augers with 3-1/4 inch, 3-3/4 inch and 4-1/4 inch
I. D. with maxium 8 inch O. D. Angle hole drilling is required in
certain instances to optimize the amount and type of geological
information obtained from a borehole (i. e. in those areas dominated by
on non vertical boreholes) is required to provide unique solutions to
allow delineation of the true orientation of subsurface geologic
structure. The drill shall be capable of handling ''NW'' size drill
rods in a coring or rotary drilling application to 500 feet and also be
capable of coring with ''PQ'' tools to a depth of 200 feet. The drill
unit shall be self contained with skidding capabilities that permit
