(USGS), Reston, Virginia, anticipates awarding a delivery order with
Computer Associates International of Reston, Virginia to renew
maintenance services for the period of October 1, 1994 through
September 30, 1995 for the following software: CA-1 (Automated Tape
Storage Management System), CA-7 (Automated Scheduling System), CA-11
(Automated Rerun/Restart), CA-Dispatch (Automated Report Distribution),
CA-Netman (Problem/Change), CA-Netman/OLCF (Online Customization
Facility), CA-JCLCheck (Job Control Language Validation Software),
CA-Easytrieve Plus (Application Development Software),CA-Examine
(Security, Control and Audit Software), CA-ACF2 (Security Software),
CA-JARS/SMF (Performance Management and Accounting Software),
CA-Easyproclib (Procedure Library Manager Software), CA-DASDCheck (Disk
Management Software), CA-Librarian Base, CA-Librarian/TSO, and
CA-Opera. All of the above software resides on an Amdahl 5890/600E
computer. No Request For a Quotation (RFQ) will be issued. Sources
capable of providing the required maintenance may submit an affirmative
response in writing within 15 calendar days from the time this notice
first appears. An affirmative response must include offered prices,
technical reference, warranties, and any additional information
indicating a bona fide ability to meet this specific requirement.
Information must be sufficient to complete, in full, a technical
evaluation. All responsible sources may submit an affirmative response
which will be fully considered by this agency. No contract award will
be made on the basis of any responses to this notice because the
synopsis of intent is to order against a federal contract and shall not
be considered a formal solicitation document. As a result of analyzing
responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may
determine that a solicitation will be issued. Any such solicitation
will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all firms that
