The Farm Credit Administration (FCA), 1501 Farm Credit Drive, McLean,
VA 22102-5090, intends to place a delivery order with AmeriData
against their GSA contract number GS00K94AGS5402 for the following :
One Compaq Proliant 4000 5/90 Model 1 with two 90 MHz Pentium
processors (upgradeable to 4 processors), 512 KB Cache memory, 128MB
ECC memory (64MB Base + 64MB upgrade), 8-EISA Bus Master Slots,
NetFlex-2 32-Bit Ethernet card, one CD-ROM, one 3.5'', 1.44MB diskette
drive, two Proliant Storage Systems, 14 2-GB Pluggable SCSI-2 hard
disk drives, Smart SCSI-2 Array Controller with two simultaneous drive
transfer channels, redundant power supplies, two 4/16 GB TurboDAT
Autoloader Tape Drive with 32-Bit Fast-SCSI-2 EISA controller and four
12 cartridge magazines. Compaq Insight Manager (Server Management
Software), Compaq Smart Start for Windows NT Server 3.5. One copy of
Windows NT Server 3.5 version custom tuned for the Proliant 4000 by
Compaq, one copy of Windows NT Server 3.5 documentation and Compaq
Smart Start Subscription Service, system integration/setup. Delivery to
McLean, VA. Seven Compaq Proliant 2000 5/90 Model 4200A with one 90 MHz
Pentium processor (upgradeable to 2 processors), 512 KB Cache memory,
64MB ECC memory (32MB Base 3CD-ROM. One 3.5'', 1.44MB diskette drive,
four 2-GB Pluggable SCSI-2 hard disk drives, Smart SCSI-2 Array
controller with two simultaneous drive transfer channels, 4/16 GB
TurboDAT Tape Drive. Compaq Insight Manager (Server Management
Software), Compaq Smart Start for Windows NT Server 3.5. Seven copies
of Windows NT Server 3.5 version custom tuned for the Proliant 2000 by
Compaq, seven copies of Windows NT Server 3.5 documentation, seven
copies of Compaq Smart Start Subscription Service, system
integration/setup. Delivery to McLean, VA with final installation at
the following FCA field offices: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO;
Sacramento, CA; St. Louis, MO; Bloomington, MN; McLean, VA. All servers
would come with a three year on-site warranty which would include a
hardware management monitoring software package equivalent to Compaq's
In Sight Manager. Four hour response time for all sites in each of the
following cities is required: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO;
Sacramento, CA; St. Louis, MO; Bloomington, MN; McLean, VA. Vendors who
can furnish the required equipment or equivalent are invited to submit,
in writing, a substantive statement, clearly stating the ability to
fill this requirement. Oral and facsimile communications are not
acceptable. Substantiveness would be indicated by a statement of
exactly what equipment is offered, complete technical specifications,
firm pricing, delivery schedule, FOB destination point, installation
charges, if any, specific on site warranty and maintenance information
and other info which will show a bona fide ability to meet this
requirement. Vendors responding to this notice with GSA Schedule
Contract information must include a copy of their GSA Schedule
Contract. No solicitation will be issued. No contract award will be
made on the basis of responses received to this notice, since this
cannot be considered a formal solicitation document. Written response
must be submitted within 15 calendar days of this notice. If no written
responses are received, an order shall be placed IAW the terms and
conditions of the above referenced schedule contract. If a response is
received from a schedule vendor for an item(s) that meets the
requirement at the lowest overall cost, an order may be placed against
that ADP Schedule Contract, provided all other terms, conditions and
delivery are equal. When a response is received from a non-schedule
vendor that meets the requirement, and analysis indicates that a
competitive acquisition may be in the best interest of the FCA, price
and other factors considered, a formal solicitation may be issued. If
a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any
such solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and to
all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request
a copy of such solicitation. All responses shall be submitted to
Darrell Cooper at the above address. No Facsimile submissions will be
