Fallica, Contracting Officer, (206)227-2849, Fax (206)227- 1055 The Federal Aviation Administration has a requirement to purchase, on a brand name or equal basis, Racal-Datacomm PremNet 5000 Fiber Optic Multiplexing components and equipment. The items will be assembled by the government into an integrated system to be installed at the Salt Lake City International Airport on runway 16R/34L. The components and equipment will be installed in a counter-rotating ring topology and will be used to multiplex, an Instrument Landing System (ILS), Runway Visual Range (RVR), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), and runway lighting signals, into a redundant digital optical output and transport data from various runway locations the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). The signal types consist of 4-wire VF and RS-232 data. Offerors bidding equivalent items will be required to demonstrate full performance and replacement capability with the brand name items, such demonstration may include an actual benchmark test to be conducted prior to contract award. Submitted proposals shall be technical evaluated in regard to such factors as compatibility, reliability, maintainability, and actual manufacturing status. Solicitation package available O/A 2/21/95.
