Aviation Administration (FAA), Western-Pacific Region, has a
requirement for a contractor to furnish all labor, equipment and
material to refurbish the Air Traffic Control Tower located at
Monterey, Peninsula Airport, 2475 Henderson Way, Monterey, California.
The work consist of but is not limited to: demolition of new carpet,
tiles, plumbing and electrical fixtures, mechanical items and roof
gravel stops; perform asbestos abatement work; handle, contain and
dispose of the asbestos; place new aggregate and hot asphalt flood coat
over the existing built-up roof and base building offices; place new
fluid-applied roof membrane over the existing waterproofed roofs for
the electrical/engine generator room and the catwalk; install new
gravel stops on the base building offices, engine generator/electrical
room roofs; patching, surface preparation and repainting interior
rooms of the tower and base buildings; installation of a lightning
protection system for the tower structure. Performance period is 40
calendar days. IFB DTFA08-95-B-04011 will be available on or about 30
days after publication of this notice, with a public bid opening
approximately 30 days from issuance. Estimated price range is
$25,000.00 to $100,000.00. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)
Code is 1542. Solicitation will be issued o/a March 3, 1995 with a for

This notice BELOW is for informational purposes for Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
payment, and performance bonds up to 1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Programs (STLP), at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximun line of credit is $500,000. For further
