58 -- PURCHASE AUTOMATIC THERMOLUMINESCENT DOSIMETER IRRADIATOR SOL RS-RG1-95-207 DUE 032195 POC Elois J. Wiggins, Contracting Officer, 301/415- 7328/, Mona Selden, Contract Specialist, 301/415-7907 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Region One Office located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, intends to purchase a device, hereinafter referred to as the ''irradiator'', which shall allow automatic sequential irradiation of up to 500 Panasonic Model 801 (and all similar Panasonic 800-series) thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs). Dosimeter loading is via standard magazines as used in Panasonic automatic TLD reader. The magazine changer must be provided with the irradiator. The irradiator must be capable of containing a Cs-137 source that is stationary inside a lead shield. The irradiator must allow TLDs to be transported into the shield for irradiation. The contractor shall furnish all necessary control devices to allow irradiation of TLDs to exposures as low as 5 mR and as high as at least 10 R. At exposures of 20 mR and above, the measured uncertainty of the ECF-corrected exposure after readout of the 20 CaSO4 (CaSO) elements of 10 sequentially irradiated TLDs must not exceed 5%. The irradiator shall include all internal and external cables, cabinets, control devices, and any other additional equipment needed to accomplish automatic sequential irradiation of Panasonic TLDs. The contractor shall provide a minimum 90-day parts and labor warranty for all hardware. This warranty shall include on-site remedial and preventive maintenance. The delivery time for all hardware and software shall be 90 days after award. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this requirement is 3829. Proposals for this requirement may be submitted by all concerns, i.e., large businesses, small businesses, and small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. A copy of the solicitation and all subsequent amendments will be provided to each requester.
