Edgar A. Chavez, Contract Administrator, 617/377-9164, FAX:
617/377-9217; Mr John Miller, Division Chief, 617/377-2195. A new
transceiver telescope is required for a LIDAR sensor. The system
operates in the LWIR using two(2) CO2 LASER transmitters and is
designed for filed use in desert to arctic environments. This telescope
will be housed in a partially controlled environment that is subject to
motion shocks at levels consistent with standard air-ride suspension
systems. The telescope must not lose focus or alignment due to this
environment. The physical and optical requirements are as follows:
clear aperture 12'' diameter, magnification 20X, wavefront quality 4
peak to valley @HENE, surface quality (=60 -40, surface coat A1 with
1500A SIO overcoat, transmission )=90% from 9.15 TO 10.85u, design
Dall-Kirkham or Mersenne with graduated, lockable focal adjustment,
design constraints afocal off-axis unobscured, material Xerodur,
dimensions within approx. 16''X20''X75'' footprint, thermal stability
performance from 10 - 30 degrees Celsius, ruggedness withstand air-ride
transport, laser pulse damage threshold )300mJ/cm2. See Numbered
