ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE ORIGINS OF SOLAR SYSTEMS PROGRAMS -- This notice
constitutes a NASA Research Announcement as contemplated in FAR
6.102(d)(2). The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is
issuing a NASA Research Announcement (NRA 95-OSS-08) for the Origins of
Solar Systems Program (OSSP). The opportunity to propose will be open
for a 90 day period ending May 24, 1995. Participation is open to all
categories of organizations, both domestic and foreign: industry,
educational, institutions, other nonprofit organizations, NASA Centers,
and other Government agencies. NASA is soliciting proposals to conduct
scientific investigations related to understanding the formation and
early evolution of planetary systems and to provide the fundamental
research and analysis necessary to detect and characterize other
planetary systems. These investigations may involve analytical and
numerical modeling, laboratory research, and observational studies in
the following areas: star formation, solar nebula processes,
accumulation and dynamical evoluation, analysis of primitive materials,
and detection of other planetary systems. Investigations should
directly support the goals related to understanding planetary system
formation. Copies of the NRA and appendices will be available after
February 24, 1995, from the National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC)
at the Goddard Space Flight Center via ANONYMOUS FTP retrieval over
the Internet (ftp nssdca.gsfc.naga.gov) or DECNET (ftp
nssdca::(15.188)). Instructions for accessing the files are contained
in the home directory under the name of ''OSSPNRA.README'' Hard copies
of the NRA and appendices will be available after February 24, 1995 to
