PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment for the electrical upgrade of Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital and the installation of a new medical gas system for patient care. Other work includes the construction of a new generator building; installation of three new 200 kW emergency generators; installation of new medical air compressors and medical vacuum pumps; and oxygen, medical air, and medical vacuum outlets for the Hospital's inpatient medical/surgical suite, operating room, inpatient obstetrics suite, and emergency and cast rooms. Estimated price range is $1 million to $5 million. This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice. Interested firms shall apply to the SEARHC address listed above to obtain an Indian Set-Aside Qualified Bidders Pre-Solicitation Inquiry. The Inquiry should be returned to SEARHC by March 1, 1995, 4:00 P.M. local time. This Presolicitation Notice will be followed by a formal Solicitation Notice published in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) on or about March 31, 1995. A NON-REFUNDABLE fee of $125.00 for bid documents will be required. Bid documents will be available at the office of SEARHC Facility Management, address listed above. Bids will be opened on or about May 1, 1995, at 4:00 P.M., local time, at the office of SEARHC Facility Management, in Sitka, Alaska, address listed above. Contract completion time is 365 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The proposed contract listed herein is set-aside under the Buy Indian Act for 100% Indian-owned and controlled firms. In accordance with the Public Health Service Acquisition Regulation Paragraph 380.503(e), not more than fifty (50) percent of the work to be performed under a prime contract awarded pursuant to the Buy Indian Act shall be subcontracted to other than Indian firms. For this purpose, work to be performed does not include the provision of materials, supplies, or equipment. Contractors should indicate whether they are a 100% Indian-owned and controlled firm, and their interest in bidding as a prime or subcontractor. Inadequate response from Indian prime contractors or Indian subcontractors, or both by March 1, 1995, may cause this Indian Set-Aside decision to be reconsidered. All responsible sources may submit their response to this Pre-Solicitation inquiry which shall be considered by SEARHC. (030)
