COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 1,1995 PSA#1274U.S. Geological Survey, 12201 Sunrise Valley Dr., MS 205K, Reston, Va
22092 70 -- DIGITAL CARTOGRAPHIC PRODUCTION/SEGMENT (DCP/S) ENHANCEMENTS DUE
042095 POC Karen Phillips (703)648-7372 (contact), Kimberly A. Kleeb
(703)648-7370 (CO) Market Search. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)
anticipates entering into non-competitive negotiations with Intergraph
Corporation of Huntsville, Alabama to obtain enhancements to the
existing Digital Cartographic Production/Segment (DCP/S). The DCP/S is
an automated digital orthophoto production system. The DCP/S inputs
hardcopy and digital imagery; scans the data to digital format;
performs image pre-processing, mensuration and triangulation,
orthorectification and mosaiking; and then produces USGS DCP/S
formatted digital orthophotos on optical disk, 8mm Exabyte tape or
computer compatible tape. The DCP/S utilizes unique classified software
which interfaces to Intergraph's Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS)
hardware and proprietary software. The primary functions of the DCP/S
are to generate and copy digital orthophotos from special source
national assets. The USGS's requirements relating to the DCP/S are as
follows: new capabilities such as soft copy interface for DCP/S and
interfaces to Intergraph's proprietary COTS software; operational
support for existing custom developed software; maintenance for
Intergraph COTS software; maintenance for Intergraph COTS hardware;
resolution of discrepancy reports (DR) against existing custom
software; assistance in performing Configuration Management (CM)
function; training; systems analysis and design; and user
documentation. All software enhancements and related services will be
tightly coupled to Intergraph's proprietary software. ADP support
services are required over the anticipated 5-year contract life. Firms
who believe they can provide the required ADP support services are
invited to submit an affirmative response within 45 days of the
publication date of this notice in accordance with note number 22. All
such responses will be evaluated in order to determine whether that
firm has full knowledge of the USGS's requirement for DCP/S support
with the above mentioned capabilities. An affirmative response shall
include literature, brochures, and other such information corresponding
to the required items which demonstrates the capabilities of the
offeror. Because Intergraph COTS ADP source code will be required to
integrate DCP/S custom code and enhancements, offeror shall fully
describe how they would obtain the required Intergraph source code.

(RFP) is not available. This notice may represent the Government's only
official notice of this procurement. See Note 22. (0030) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0459 19950131\70-0004.SOL)
