Full/Basic/IRIX Care, CS-SWCARE-DEV, 1 ea, Installation CS4-P02. The
FAR cite supporting other than full and open competition is FAR Part
6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services
will satisfy agency requirements. Brand Name mandatory acquisition of
this equipment is necessary because the equipment being acquired must
be compatible and interchangeable with the existing hardware
configurations and software programs currently installed at NAWCAD. The
required delivery date is 1 April 1995. THERE IS NO EXISTING
SOLICITATION. All written responses from responsible sources will be
fully considered. Written responses must contain complete pricing and
technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the
requirements. Your response must be received by this office within 15
calendar days after this notice. Responses must contain GSA schedule
contract number, if applicable. Responses to this notice will be used
to determine whether bona fide competition exists and whether a formal
solicitation is appropriate. The Government will evaluate according to
technical acceptability and overall cost. Overall cost will include the
additional costs involved for placing a competitive contract if
non-schedule prices are proposed. After analyzing responses to this
synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a
solicitation will be issued, however, no additional synopsis will be
published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended
schedule vendor and all firms that responded to this synopsis of
intent, or otherwise requested a copy of the solicitation. Written
responses will be evaluated only if they include complete pricing and
technical data (information) to enable the Government to determine if
a solicitation is warranted. The cost/price information must be
provided for each item identified in the synopsis and shall include a
total price for all items described or all items for which the firm is
responding. If no sources more advantageous to the Government are
available, an order will be placed against GSA schedule GS00K94AGS5993
