The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, California intends to procure Infrared Radiation (IR) Crucible augmentation devices for use on various targets on a sole source basis from Tracor Aerospace, Inc., Bldg. M-7, Highland Park, East Camden, Arkansas 71701, pursuant to the authority granted by FAR 6.302-1 (one responsible source). The intensity of the radiated signal shall be at least 75 watts per steradian (measured in the 3 to 5 micron band and shall not drop below that level until after 80 seconds of operation. All radiant intensities are specified for measurement at ground level (28 to 32 inches Hg) in static conditions (65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit) against a blue sky background. The radiant intensity specified shall be from any point in the hemispherical coverage sector above the base of the IR crucible. Flames, smoke, or hot fragments are not allowed as by-products of combustion. The maximum projected area of the radiator shall be 160 square centimeters at any aspect angle. For mounting provisions, the base of the IR crucible shall have four mounting holes equally spaced in a 3.900 inch diameter bolt circle. The mounting holes shall be .213 (+/- .010) inches in diameter. The maximum outside diameter of the IR crucible base shall be 4.50 inches. The maximum weight of the device shall be six pounds. The IR crucible shall be stand alone infrared radiator when ignited/activated. Two igniters shall be built into the infrared augmenter. Total quantity is 800 each. The contract's base quantity is 160 each with four options with option quantity of 160 each for each option. The base quantity shall be delivered at a rate of 20 each per month to commence 180 DAC. Delevery rate for the option quantities shall be at a rate of 20 each per month to commence 180 days after exercise of the option. Delivery shall be FOB destination to the Naval Air Weapons Station, Point Mugu, CA 93042.
