66 -- EXTERNAL CAVITY DIODE LASER SYSTEM SOL 52SBNB5C8618 DUE 032395 POC Shirley Shoemaker (301) 975-6337 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to purchase on a Brand Name or Equal Basis an Environmental Optical Sensors, Incorporated's External-cavity, diode laser system consisting of the following specifications: (1) modular with a scanning controller and power supply and accept laser diodes emitting throughout the wavelength range 0.635 to 1.55 micrometers; (2) laser emission at a 20 milliwatt minimum power; (3) tunability of 25 nanometers at wavelengths centered about 0.820 and 1.38 micrometers; (4) output beam of a single longitudinal mode (SLM) with a line width ( 100 kHz; (5) actively stabilized servo- lock of the laser output frequency with a laser frequency stability of + 100 kHz; (6) single longitudinal mode laser frequency that is fine-tunable over at least 30 GHz with no mode hopping; (7) laser output of at least 35 dB isolation from the resonant optical cavity; (8) amplitude modulate (at fixed optical frequency) the beam intensity up to 1 GHz; and (9) wavelength modulate the beam up to 10 kHz. The system consists of the following components: (1) a stepper motor controlled tunable laser cavity with a spectral range of 0.60 - 0.92 micrometers--Model Number ECU-2001-01A or Equal; (2) diode laser module with diode laser, wavelength at 0.810 micrometers; output power at 40 milliwatts--Model Number DMD 810-040 or equal; (3) single mode, fiber optic module with 35db of isolation at a wavelength of 0.810 micrometers--Model Number FCN- 810-1 or equal; and (4) wavelength servo-lock with air-spaced etalon--Model Number AirET-2001 or equal. The contractor shall make delivery 60 days after date of contract. Proposals will be evaluated on the contractor's ability to meet the specifications and price. The Standard Industrial Code is 3577.
