This action is to provide short-term psychiatric inpatient services and other levels of intensive Mental Health care for Indian Health Service eligible patients referred for care from the Albuquerque and Navajo Areas of Indian Health Service. Services are to be provided to eligible children, adolescents and adults with the highest quality and sensitivity to cultural values and needs. Psychiatric inpatient services are to be provided as part of a system of care with a community based focus and every effort is to be made to refer patients requiring inpatient care to lower levels of appropriate care in a community setting as soon as possible. Multiple awards are expected to result from this solicitation to ensure an adequate geographic distribution of providers and services and easy access from communities within the Albuquerque and Navajo Areas. Solicitation will be issued on or about February 21, 1995. Period of performance to be effective for one year from date of award and includes three (one) year options.
