W -- LEASE WITH OPTION TO PURCHASE STABLE ISOTOPE MASS SPECTROMETER FOR CNOS GASES SOL RFP 5-6035 POC Donnarene M. Lewis, Contracting Officer, (303) 236-5900 x321 The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, has a requirement to lease with the option to purchase one (1) each, new automated stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer with dual viscous flow inlet system configured for determination of the isotope ratios of D/H, 13C/12C, oxygen-18/oxygen-16, 15N/14N, 34S/32S from the gases H2, CO2, N2, and SO2. In order to perform the required functions, the mass spectrometer shall be equipped with multiple inlets to the source region, a microvolume inlet system for handling of small samples, an automated tube cracker for Pyrex breakseal tubes, and an automated cryogenic trapping system. The required equipment shall have fully integrated multitasking software to allow computer control of the mass spectrometer and all peripheral sample preparation devices with simultaneous capability to analyze, store and reduce data, and to access critical mass spectrometer control and readout components. Delivery shall be F.O.B. destination, Denver, CO, four (4) months after contract award. RFP 5-6035 will close on or about March 15, 1995.
