J -- MAINTENANCE AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR THE NOAA WEATHER RADIO TRANSMITTER NETWORK SOL 52-DGNW-5-00063 DUE 021095 POC Greg Smith, Contract Specialist; 301/713-0823 Seeking sources capable of providing full service maintenance, on-site repairs, miscellaneous services, logistics support, and depot repairs for approximately 92 transmitter locations throughout the central United States in support of the Nat'l Weather Service (NWS). Logistical support and depot repairs for another 252 transmitter sites at various locations throughout the US. Services will include periodic maintenance, equipment modifications, inventory storage and replenishment, antenna system repairs/replacements, RF signal testing, locating suitable antenna sites, site installation/relocation, and installation of lightning protection devices. The period of performance is for one year with four one-year option periods. Any resultant contract awarded will include an option to convert depot-only repair sites to full coverage sites and options to add new depot-only and full coverage sites. The contract will also include phase-out options. Interested parties should indicate size status and provide a capabilities statement that demonstrates their ability to support this network. For this procurement, firms with revenue of less than $7 million per year are generally considered small businesses. The NWS currently has a contract for this service that expires on April 30, 1995, but that contains options that NOAA may exercise in lieu of recompeting this requirement. (0023)
