Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Jacksonville, FL intends to place an
order against GSA Contract GS00K95AGS5674 with Digital Equipment
Corporation (DEC), for maintenance of various DEC computer software and
hardware. A copy of the specific hardware/software may be obtained by
written (FAX) request to the contract person identified above.
Maintenance of software shall consist of services to ensure proper
operation and performance of software, and provision of current
releases of software updates and documentation for correcting problems
encountered using the existing products. Maintenance of hardware shall
consist of services to ensure that preventive maintenance and repairs
to the equipment are performed in a timely manner by experienced
personnel, ensuring proper operation conditions and minimum equipment
downtime. The maintenance is to begin 01 Mar 1995 and continue through
30 Sep 1995. For the purpose of this schedule buy, the system life is
one year. Only written responses shall be accepted and must include
GSA contract number, if applicable, prices, capability of meeting the
required delivery schedule and sufficient information to establish a
bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. All inquires must be
received within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. If
no affirmative written responses are received within 15 calendar days
after publication of this notice to the effect that a comparable source
exists or that it is more advantageous for the Government than
purchasing from the FIP schedule, an order will be placed with DEC from
the GSA schedule contract. No solicitation document exists and requests
for such documents will be considered non-responsive and not valid for
consideration. All responses from responsible sources will be fully
considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of
intent, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will
be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be
published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended
schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent
or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. Oral communications
