The 30th Space Wing at Vandenberg AFB CA intends to issue a solicitation to acquire two (2) high quality, solid state 10 KW Class AB High Power Amplifiers (HPAs) to operate within the 400-460 Mhz band. The contractor shall be required to design, develop, fabricate, integrate, test, demonstrate and transport these two HPA's, as detailed in the Statement of Work provided with the solicitation. These HPAs will be used for rapid worldwide dispatch to peform critical command and control missions, and must be ruggedizied for severe handling during transportation and operating environments. Construction and assembly of these HPAs must be under strictly controlled conditions using state-of-art technology, with parts having known reliability history; to a design containing automatic structural, mechanical, and electrical redundancy where practical, that will function norminally without regard to severe environmental conditions; and will function nominally in the presence of numbers of internal failures, specified by category.
