Z -- CONSTRUCTION OF SEISMIC MASS/FOUNDATION ALTERATION SOL 2458 due 020395. POC Robert Foye, (419) 621-3201. Seismic mass construction consists of: 1) removing three (3) railroad tracks imbedded in the concrete floor; 2) breaking the existing concrete slab completely; 3) removing slab remnants and taking care not to cut an cable that resides beneath the slab; 4) locating the cable and arranging its relocation; 5) driving sheet piles (shoring); 6) excavating the soil and compacting after excavation (site is approximately 48'x36'x6' deep); 7) inserting steel support columns and steel rod reinforcements for the concrete; 8) pouring high strength concrete; 9) precisely placing the anchor plates and bolts on top of the support columns; 10) reinstalling the three railroad tracks. Work to be done at NASA Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, Ohio under contract NAS3-26951. Deadline for solicitation requests is February 3, 1995.
