The Marine Corps Air Station at El Toro is seeking a contractor to provide labor, materials, and equipment required to complete the removal of abaondoned 25,000 and 50,000 gallon reinforced concrete underground storage tanks (USTs) and abandoned 2,000 gallon fiber-steel underground storage tank, including removal and disposal of all piping, removal and disposal of tank and piping contents, permitting and preparation of a health and safety plan. Work includes excavation of tanks at Tank Farms #2 and #5, providing imported soil, backfilling and compacting the excavation cavity and restoration of suface conditions to existing uses. Orange County Health Agency Regulations apply to this project. The tanks are either empty or contain small amounts of aqueous solutions (water and dissolved constituents). Due to the size of the tanks, the tanks will be decontaminated in-place and then demolished and hauled to a licensed landfill facility. The work includes soil sampling to evaluate if tank or pipe leakage has occurred. The work is located at the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. California.
