PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE- The proposed acquisition listed herein is
being considered for a 100% Set Aside for Small Disadvantage Business
Firms. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office, in writing,
of their intention to bid the project as a prime contractor as early as
possible, but later than 15 days from the date of this notice. The
notification must contain a positive statement of eligiblity as a small
socially and economically disadvantage business concern; evidence of
capacity to obtain required bonds and specific information which
demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this nature and
magnitude. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the
solicitation will be issued as an unrestricted procurement without
further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from
all firms including large businesses. Interested parties will be put on
the planholders list and issued an IFB when available. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this project is 1752- Floor
Laying and Other Floor Work, N.E.C. The size standard is $7 million.
The work inludes removal of asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic
and replacement with new vinyl composition tile, carpet tiles and
carpet and incidental related work. Requests for the plans and
specifications may be mailed to the above address or request may be
sent via facsimile by using fax (202) 433-0939. Contractors within the
local area are encouraged to pick-up a copy of the solicitation at
First Floor, Plans and Specification Issue Room, Building 212 in the
Washington Navy Yard, Monday-Friday between 7:30 and 3:30. There will
be no charge for these documents, however, there will be only one set
issued per contractor. Requests for plans/specs and bidders lists
should be made separately to avoid confusion at the plans office.
Please note plans/specs will be issued on a ''first-come, first-serve''
basis. NOTE: Bids are to be submitted to the Plans and Specification
Issue Room, First Floor, Building 212, Washington Navy Yard by 2:00
p.m. the day of bid opening. The projected date for issuance of plans
and specifications is 01 Febuary 1995. The projected date for bid
opening is 03 March 1995. At approximately 3:00 pm on the day of bid
opening, interested parties may call (202) 433-5602 for results of the
bid opening. The estimated cost of construction for this project is
