99 -- HONG KONG: SOL PT/251/94 (A06010/94) DUE 033195 8526 surface movement radar system subject Tender comprises the supply of a surface movement radar (smr) to the civil aviation department for use at the new Hong Kong international airport at chek lap kok the Government has appointed Hughes systems pacific limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hughes aircraft company, as project management consultant for the chek lap kok air traffic control system project an agreement has been made with Hughes systems pacific limited that to avoid conflict of interest Hughes or any associated company will not be allowed to bid for tenders supplying in whole or part or any component of the chek lap kok air traffic control system the tenderer must have had extensive experience in the Development and implementation of surface movement radar and must have sufficient expertise to implement the required system in the time specified as evidence of this experience, the tenderer should provide a list of users of systems similar to the proposed system which it has supplied in the last 10 years the smr system shall provide a reliable, accurate, and clear picture of all moving and stationary objects (including aircraft, ground vehicles and ships) located on runways, taxiways, aprons, and other manoeuvring areas on or adjacent to the airport under the specified system performances and service conditions the smr system shall include the following Basic elements smr antenna system including the smr antenna assembly, antenna pedestal/turning unit, radome/rotodome and waveguide assembly; dual smr transmitter/receiver operating in frequency diversity mode and/or independent pulse-to-pulse frequency agility mode; dual radar signal processing unit; six display workstations (4 operational, 1 backup and 1 maintenance display) complete with individual digital scan converters and display processing units; local and remote control and monitoring system (cms) for the smr system; dual radar signal/data and voice recording system; separate playback system; uninterruptible power supply (ups) system; and lightning protection device and obstruction lights (if not attached to the radome/rotodome) request for copies of Tender documents must be obtained directly from the director of Government Supplies, Government Supplies department, 12 oil street, North point, Hong Kong (attn.: Mr. Leung kam-hung) Fax: (852) 2807-2764, Telex: 61675 hkgsd hx.
