Butler/Contracting Officer The proposed effort will provide the
necessary management, labor, equipment, materials, facilities,
hardware, and services required for the design, fabrication, assembly,
qualification verification, delivery and sustaining engineering for
the FSCU -- The required hardware includes flight units and non flight
units and all ground support equipment and flight support equipment --
SSFF is a materials research facility in the microgravity environment
of the Space Station (SS) United States Laboratory (USL) which will
accommodate basic research, commercial applications, and studies of
phenomena of metals and alloys, electronic and photonic materials, and
glasses and ceramics -- The SSFF will operate, regulate and support a
variety of experiment modules in order to support the broad base of
research requirements -- The FSCU is a subsystem of the SSFF Instrument
Control Electronics (ICE) -- The FSCU provides the signal conditioning
for Control Thermocouple Temperature measurements, Sample Thermocouple
Temperature measurements, cartridge and ampoule failure measurements
and temperature measurements of Thermocouple Reference Junction's (TRJ)
-- The FSCU will communicate with the Command and Data Management
System of the SSFF via MIL-STD-1553B data bus -- Copies of the RFP must
