Wells, Code 273, Contract Specialist, 407/380-8347, Joanne Byrd, Code 273, Contracting Officer, 407/380-8388 The U.S. Army Office of the Project Manager for Training Devices has a requirement to provide an additional year (1 July 1995 through 30 June 1996) of logistics support for the Precision Gunnery Training System (PGTS). The logistics support for PGTS includes both the indoor and outdoor versions of the TOW and Dragon, the Improved TOW Vehicle/Light Armored Vehicle - Antitank outdoor trainer, the Improved Instructor Station for the outdoor TOW trainers, the User Specified Operational Trainer Improvements for the outdoor trainer and the Rehost effort on the indoor trainer. The PGTS trainers are currently maintained through a Contractor Repair Activity (CRA) operated by the PGTS prime contractor, Loral Fairchild Systems, Syosset, NY. The CRA is intended to maintain the PGTS trainers through completion of production and fielding. Due to engineering changes to the basic PGTS system, production and fielding of the PGTS trainers has been extended through June 1997. It is essential for the Government to retain the existing CRA through the completion of production and fielding. Further, the Government does not possess configuration control of the PGTS program and will not obtain complete technical drawings/data/documentation until the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 1996. For these reasons, the period of performance of the CRA must be extended to be consistent with the production and fielding of the PGTS trainers. The request for proposal for the extended period of performance is expected to be released by 10 February 1995. Contract award is expected by 30 June 1995. (0011)
