Etiology, National Cancer Institute, has a requirement for a resource
for procurement of human tissues from donors with an epidemiologic
profile. This will include (1) providing human broncus, lung and colon
specimens following surgeries, organ transplants, and immediate
autopsies; (2) obtaining appropriate human subject and informed consent
approvals; (3) performing pathological analysis (morphological,
cytochemical and immunocytochemical characteristics) of collected
tisues from the fresh, unfrozen, normal, premalignant and malignant
tissues to define conditions of the specimens at ''time 0'' of
collection; (4) delivery of tissues to NIH within 2 hours of
availability; (5) obtaining participation from smoking and nonsmoking
male and female adults; (6) collecting viable specimens of blood
components; (7) delivering donor questionnaires to NIH. All responsible
sources are encouraged to submit an offer and will be considered by the
