This synopsis corrects the synopsis published 29 Nov 1994 for the Naval Research Laboratory requirement for contractor support for fire protection research to add two additional option years. The period of performance will consist of a base year and four option years. The contractor shall perform analyses, conduct studies and conduct RDT&E projects in the following task areas: fire extinguishing agents/delivery systems, fire hazard analysis, small and large scale fire test, fire fighting training and tactics, fire protection in submarines and other closed spaces, propellant-induced fires, total ship survivability tests and remote damage control. In addition to supplying technical personnel, the contractor shall furnish all of the logistical support, including fire fighters, statisticians and photographers as required for specific test programs. The contractor shall possess the ability to transmit data and reports electronically, reply to electronic mail over such medium as Internet. Work is to be performed at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, and its Chesapeake Beach, MD facility, on the ex-USS SHADWELL, Mobile, AL, the Naval Air Weapons Center, China Lake, CA and at other government facilities and aboard ship as the program dictates.
