410/278-3415, Contract Specialist. The United States Special Operations
Command (USSOCOM), McDill AFB, FL, is seeking sources of technologies,
products, and materiel supporting the counterproliferation of weapons
of mass, destruction (nuclear, biological, and chemical systems and
devices). Specifically, USSOCOM is seeking near term (0 - 5 years)
technologies, deveopmental systems, and off-the-shelf hardware products
related to the detection, recovery, safing and destruction of nuclear,
biological and chemical weapons for USSOCOM counterproliferation
mission requirements. Candidate technologies and materiel solutions
should support operational requirements for small, lightweight
(manportable), and ruggedized equipment. Interested equipment
developers,/vendors, commercial/government laboratories, and academic
institutions are encouraged to respond to this market survey. Parties
responding to this announcement are requesting to submit the following
items for consideration: (1) an Informal paper (maximum of ten single
sided pages in length) briefly describing the proposed technology or
system, identifying the USSOCOM counterproliferation mission area and
technology/system addresses, the maturity of the technology/system
(conceptual, deveopmental or currently available), and an
organizational point of contact (name and phone number ); (2) available
brochures/pamphlets, photograph or sketch of the system, and data
sheets that provide the size, shape, weight, and other physical and
technical performance parameters of the system; (3) system level
technical data sheets and specification sheets, if available; and (4)
unit cost or estimates to demonstrate the technology or produce the
system. Upon a review of the responses to this survey, additional
technical details may be requested, on a case by case basis. This
survey does not constitute a request for proposal solicitation, nor
necessarily lead to an RFP solicitation. The survey results are
intended to form the basis for an investment strategy for technologies
supporting a specific USSOCOM counterproliferation Mission capability.

is tasked to conduct this market survey. As required, Booz-Allen &
